Drawing on this deep-rooted civilization, they governed a vast geography across the ancient world. A journey to the Persian Gulf and its beautiful islands is best enjoyed in autumn and winter, offering the chance to explore one of history’s most important crossroads of three continents. Upon your pre-dawn arrival at Tehran Airport, our representative—holding a sign with your transfer information—will greet you and escort you to your hotel. After checking in, you’ll have time to rest before beginning our morning tour of Tehran.
To make the most of the day and avoid heavy traffic, we’ll use the subway and chartered taxis. This not only saves time but also gives you a great opportunity to interact with local people and experience everyday life in Tehran.
Our tour begins at 9:30 AM with a visit to the Carpet Museum of Iran, home to more than 100 stunning carpets and rugs from across the country. Here, you’ll gain insight into the artistry, craftsmanship, and history behind Persian hand-woven carpets.
Next, we explore the expansive Sa’ad Abad Complex, covering 1,100,000 square meters and featuring 18 historic palaces—two of which we will tour. Originally built by Qajar monarchs in the 19th century, the complex was later used by Reza Shah and Mohammad Reza Shah of the Pahlavi dynasty before being converted into a museum after the 1979 Revolution. Its grandeur and history make it one of Tehran’s most impressive landmarks.
Following our visit, we’ll enjoy a delicious Iranian lunch at a traditional restaurant.
In the afternoon, we head to the Reza Abbasi Museum, named after the renowned Safavid-era artist. The museum displays an exceptional collection of Persian art spanning from the 2nd millennium BC to the Islamic period, offering a deep look into Iran’s artistic heritage.

Sightseeing: National Museum of Iran, Golestan Palace, Bazaar, National Jewelry Museum
We begin the morning with a visit to the National Museum of Iran, consisting of two main sections: the Museum of Ancient Iran (opened in 1937) and the Museum of the Islamic Era (opened in 1972). Together, they house an extraordinary collection of historical artifacts—including pottery, metalwork, textiles, rare books, and ancient coins—offering a remarkable journey through Iran’s ancient and medieval heritage. Through these displays, we gain a vivid picture of the evolution of civilization in this region.
Our next stop is the magnificent Golestan Palace, the former Qajar royal complex and one of Tehran’s oldest and most celebrated monuments. This UNESCO World Heritage Site includes elegant halls, beautiful gardens, and collections showcasing Iranian craftsmanship as well as European gifts from the 18th and 19th centuries.
We then take a stroll through the bustling Tehran Bazaar, the economic heartbeat of the city. More than just a marketplace, the bazaar is a vibrant social hub where daily life unfolds—people gather, interact, and shape the cultural and political landscape of the city. After our walk, we enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Our Tehran sightseeing concludes with a visit to the National Jewelry Museum, home to an unrivaled collection of priceless jewels. Among its treasures is the famed Darya-e-Noor “Sea of Light”, one of the world’s most renowned diamonds. (The museum is only open on Saturdays to Tuesdays from 13:00 to 16:00). In the late afternoon, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Ahvaz and will be transferred to Shushtar as soon as we arrive.

Sightseeing: Susa, Shushtar, Choqazanbil
Today we start early for a full day of exploration in Susa (Shush), Shushtar, and Choqazanbil. The ancient city of Susa, founded long before the Common Era, bears witness to one of the earliest governments in history and the cultural fusion of the Iranian Plateau and Mesopotamia.
Our first stop is the Tomb of Daniel, a site that continues to attract pilgrims from across the Middle East. We then admire the Apadana Palace and the historical castle of Susa, marveling at their architectural elegance and historical significance.
Next, we explore the Choqazanbil Temple, one of the best-preserved Elamite complexes. Our day concludes with a visit to the Shushtar Historical Hydraulic System and its charming historical bridges, a UNESCO World Heritage site showcasing ingenious ancient engineering.

Today, we bid a fond farewell to the timeless wonders of Shushtar and set off toward the vibrant city of Abadan, where history and culture intertwine along the shimmering banks of the Arvand Rud. This captivating route unfolds with endless vistas of turquoise waters lapping against sandy and rocky beaches, framed by swaying palm groves and lush date orchards that whisper tales of ancient maritime trade. Along the way, we'll pause to admire the pristine sands and serene waves of places like the wild beaches near Deylam and Ganaveh, where the gulf's gentle breeze carries the scent of the sea, and glimpse protected natural wonders such as the Heleh area with its river estuaries and diverse wildlife. Sightseeing: Natural Attractions of Hormoz Island
Today we take a ferry to Hormoz Island, an Iranian island in the Strait of Hormoz, to explore its extraordinary natural beauty. Everywhere you look is visually striking, as if the island gathers the full spectrum of colors and forms in one place. With limited time, we wander among fascinating caves, salt-encrusted rivers, and surreal rock formations.
Located in the Strait of Hormuz, about 8 kilometers (5 miles) off the Iranian coast, Hormoz Island is part of Hormozgan Province and covers an area of 42 km². The island is composed mainly of sedimentary rock layered with volcanic material, rising to a highest point of approximately 186 meters (610 ft) above sea level. Due to low rainfall, both the soil and water are highly saline.
Hormoz Island is considered a unique mineralogical treasure, thanks to the remarkable variety of rocks and minerals found within such a small area. The island’s only notable historical monument is a decaying Portuguese fort from the colonial era, standing in quiet isolation.

Sightseeing: Natural Attractions of Hengam Island.
Today we take a ferry to Hengam Island, another Iranian island in the Persian Gulf, located just south of Qeshm Island. Shaped like a truncated cone, Hengam covers about 36.6 km² (22.7 sq miles) and is generally low-lying and calcareous. Its highest point is Nakas Mountain, rising to approximately 106 meters (348 ft). Separated from Qeshm by only 2 kilometers (1.2 miles), the island’s main livelihood is fishing, alongside growing tourism. Key attractions include old English harbor buildings and coal storage facilities, Portuguese shipwrecks, and rich marine life such as dolphins, turtles, corals, and occasionally sharks.
