Once upon a time, in a land of myth and fairytales, traders and hardy travelers made their way along the fabled Silk Road, passing Yazd, the city which lies in the heart of Iran. The city was always considered to be an important passage of trades. It has been somewhat immune from the conflicts and wars that took place during the history of Iran. The harshness of the roads along with the limitation of water resources has been a major obstacle to conquer this area by some of the small and great governments throughout history. The great number of visitors to the heritage sites of Yazd is the real sign of its great culture and history.
