The geographical situation and strategic location of Fars province in south-west Iran, from where two Great Ancient Persian dynasties- Achaemenids and Sassanians- raised, had a leading role in the historical development of Ancient Persia. Spanning over several centuries, the dynasties are considered a golden age in the history of Iran, and influenced the identity of the Persian civilization ever since.
