
Mount Derak (known as Mother Mount) is a Sedimentary rocky mountain located in Shiraz, Fars, in the Middle East region in Iran. It is 20 kilometers (12 mi) long. We start trekking from the south flank of Mount Derak and move 35 km to the village named 'AliAbad' and 'maroon' through a rocky and adventurous mountain road full of hills and fantastic scenes, ranged from colorful rocks to river and green lands.

We start trekking in the morning from north of Shiraz along the south flank of Derak mountain toward ‘Aliabad’ (approx. 30 kilometers). There are some standpoints for taking magnificent photos along the rocky road and meanwhile visiting different and special Derak flora (thyme, peanuts, rhubarb, oak, mastic, artichokes, poppy flowers and inverted tulip) and fauna (hawk, fox, hoopoe, partridge) and at the end we can see fruitful gardens of ‘Aliabad’ and we return back via Shiraz-Bushehr road.
